Patrick Ballantyne, a Toronto-based Singer/ Songwriter, has been writing his own songs since he first picked up a guitar at the age of 14. Heavily influenced by the sounds of CKLW , the radio station for the windsor/ Detroit area, you can hear echoes of the Motor Cities in his timeless songs. Early on, he forged a strong bond with Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar, Grady). Together they have written songs that are staples of Canadian radio, including "If I Had My Way", "Girlwatcher", "Gone for Good" and "All Hell For a Basement".

Patrick has also co-written five of the tracks on Grady's current CD, "A Cup of Cold Poison" including the recent single "One of These Days". Patrick co-wrote the Trews single "Poor Old Broken Hearted Me" which charted well for the band in 2007.

1Marc-Alan Barnette is an original. Aptly classified as “In-Your-Face-Country-Soul,” Marc-Alan's music and Marc-Alan himself have created a huge buzz in the music scene. Barnette is the king of reinventing himself- a dichotomy of heartfelt and hilarious, crazy and down-to-earth.  Because of the variety of hats Barnette dons for each of his shows, he certainly keeps every audience on its toes, thoroughly entertained and wanting more.

After a move to Nashville in 1988, Marc-Alan scored a cut with Shelby Lynne his first night in town. He has had success in Nashville as a writer, several publishing deals, and cuts by John Berry and David Ball, including the current single “Too Much Blood in My Alcohol Level” on the Ball “Freewheeler” album. He has co-written with the best and along with his former back-up singers “The Kinleys,” he has opened shows for Charlie Daniels, Garth Brooks, Ricochet, and Patty Loveless.

roger brownRoger Brown is a sweetly swinging Texan doesn’t saddle up his music and take it out of the Lone Star State very often, partly because Western swing and twin-fiddle shuffles can pack a San Antonio dance hall any night of the week.

But Brown’s always been a favorite of fellow Texans like George Strait and Clay Blaker, and his songs have been cut by Randy Travis, Gary Allan, Patty Loveless, Nanci Griffith, Michael Martin Murphey and, um, that ol’ cowhand Barbra Streisand. That’s because Brown’s elegant tunes draw on Gershwin and Porter as much as Bob Wills and Ray Price. But, then, good swing music always has.

kim coleToronto singer/songwriter Kim Cole began her music career in earnest in 1996 when a friend convinced her to take a vacation in Nashville, Tennessee. Coincidentally, that was right around the time she invested in her first guitar and started teaching herself to play.  Serendipity.  She wrote her first song a few weeks after returning home, and hasn't stopped.  In 2005 she recorded and released her first CD titled I'll Take The Cowboy, about which Toronto Star music critic, Greg Quill, says is “a very classy, understated recording that presents an intimate and focused portrait of a singer and composer who deserves to be heard.”

1Joe Hash is a songwriter living in the Toronto area. His roots are in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. He admires contemporary artists like Brad Paisley or Alison Krauss, but he doesn't write with anyone particular in mind. “That's not why I write,” he says. “Usually, I'm just trying to get an
idea out of my head before I lose it.”

Although public performances are infrequent, he enjoys putting those ideas in front of live audiences. “It's an amazing thing, seeing people react to the music,” he says. “That's really the whole point.”

Suzie Vinnick's star is definitely on the rise. A singer-songwriter with great depth and versatility, her debut album, Angel In The Sidelines, met with enthusiastic reviews tagging Suzie as "one to watch" on the Canadian music scene. Born in Saskatoon, Suzie is currently working from her home base in Toronto. A new album is in the works. The upcoming release marks a new focus in direction for Suzie. Where Angel explores many musical genres, her current writing keeps to a more contemporary style .The new recording will mark a determined step forward for both her songwriting and singing, which, considering the response to Angel, will make it one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of the new year.

Suzie has shared the stage with some great acts including: Jimmie Vaughan, J.J. Cale, Ani Difranco, Moxy Fruvous, Colin James, Sue Medley, Jonathon Richman , Koko Taylor and Lynn Miles.

1Roger Zuraw Another year, another Tin Pan North. And me being on stage with some of Canada's best songwriters – one thrill after another!

This past year has been a continuation of airplay in Canada, USA, and Europe. I've even received requests for my CD's from Argentina and Denmark. All of this makes this old geezer and crotchety ole coot hobbyist very happy.
