MARGHIE EVANS
Originally from Canada, Marghie Evans is an expert in international rights clearance, having functioned as Head of Rights and Clearances for PolyGram and Universal Home Entertainment until 2001. During that time she licensed footage and music for productions such as “The Cream of Eric Clapton” and “The Who: 20 Years Maximum R’n’B”, and oversaw production on DVDs as diverse as Dire Straits “Sultans of Swing” to bonus features for the 25th Anniversary Edition of “An American Werewolf In London.”
Evans was also a consultant on behalf of Universal to the MCPS (Mechanical Rights Protection Society) and BPI (British Phonographic Industry) in rights clearances in the area of new media.
Since moving to Nashville in 2001, Marghie has been an independent media consultant, and served as administrator for several independent publishers and songwriters, clearing music for film, TV and video projects, as well as licensing audio and audio-visual projects for independent record companies and artists.
Marghie is currently a Partner at Do Write Music, a Nashville TN company which specializes in all aspects of music publishing administration and clearance services for songwriters, publishers, independent producers and label owners, and corporations in need of publishing administration, royalty accounting and licensing services.

DARRYL HURS
Darryl Hurs has a 25+ year history in the music business including launching and running one of Canada’s largest indie music festivals and conference, Indie Week. Recently hired as the director of market development for CD Baby in Canada. Past positions include design and branding/marketing for Live Nation as a freelancer (projects included work for known artists such as U2, Nickelback, Madonna, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Dave Matthews and the launching of VIPNATION.com), retail buyer at HMV, booker for one of Toronto’s top live music venues (The Rivoli), and performing in various musical acts.

CARLO ZAPPAVIGNA
Recording & Performing Artist is a Neighbouring Rights specialist who began his career administering Artist, Performer and Producer sound recording claims, quickly developed a passion for the collection, protection and distribution of Artist / Producer royalties.
A long time musician (specifically the guitar) recorded a debut album two years back and is currently working on a follow-up album under the moniker ‘NonHuman Era’. He has done countless session work, performed many local shows as well as live events such as “Rocklahoma,” “Heavy Montréal” and the infamous “Formule 1 Grand Prix de Montréal.”
